Answer : Yes. Wet cutting will generally increase blade life and keep harmful dust (Silica) out of the air.

Question : What materials can be cut using the Alpha® Vortex for Marble blade?

Answer : The Alpha® Vortex for Marble blade is designed to be used on marble and softer materials. The electroplated diamonds assure smooth clean cuts without chipping or cracking the material.

Question : Can I use the Alpha® Vortex for Marble blade to cut granite?

Answer : No. The Alpha® Vortex for Marble blade utilizes electroplated diamonds which are designed to cut only soft material. If you use this blade to cut hard materials such as granite, the electroplated diamonds will round-over / dull and the blade’s cutting ability will be lost almost immediately.

Question : What is the cutting edge rim height of the Alpha® Vortex for Marble?

Answer : The rim height for the 5” Alpha® Vortex for Marble is 3mm.

Question : What is the spindle size required for use of the BAH-5/8 adapter?

Answer : Your power tool needs to have a 5/8”-11 threaded spindle for use with this adapter.

Question : Can I use the Alpha® Vortex for Marble blade without the BAH adapter?

Answer : No. The Alpha® Vortex for Marble blades must always be used together with the BAH adapter. Alpha® does not recommend mounting the Vortex for Marble blade directly onto the flange of a power tool without the BAH adapter due to the counter sunk holes drilled within the core of the blade.

Question : Does Alpha® offer other spindle sizes for the BAH and FAH adapters?

Answer : Yes. Other spindle sizes are available. Please contact your dealer or Alpha® directly to learn more about these other thread sizes.

Question : Can I use the Alpha® Vortex for Marble blade on my polishing tool?

Answer : No. The RPM speed of polishers is too slow. Diamond blades are recommended to be used on high-speed angle grinders rated for your blade diameter..

Question : What applications are the Alpha® Vortex for Marble blades designed for?

Answer : The Alpha® Vortex for Marble blades are designed for flush cutting and making 90 degree inside corners. This blade is also designed for cutting curved shapes.
